( During my research, I experienced a confusing phase that ultimately diverged from my main path but was still significant to me. Inspired by Sherry Turkle’s (2011)work “Alone Together,” and my concurrent experiences with virtual relationships, I developed a keen interest in the dynamics of long-distance relationships. This field was new to me, and my initial attempts were filled with curiosity and excitement.
I ventured into the world of dating apps with a virtual identity, relishing the freedom of becoming someone else, albeit temporarily. This transformation provided me a refuge for self-exploration and connection from a fresh perspective. However, as my intellectual journey deepened, I found myself entangled in the complex web of psychology and philosophy. This unexpected detour left me directionless, struggling to grasp simple definitions, and plunged me into a complex and indescribable array of emotions. When I realized this wasn’t what I liked, I stopped doing it.)
